a plant that farmers grow to sell for money, like tobacco. Cash crops are not grown for the farmer's personal use

charter:

a document that gives legal permission to claim land

confederation:

a group of Indigenous tribes joined for leadership and protection

indigenous:

negotiation:

the act of talking to reach an agreement or solution

religious tolerance:

allowing people to choose their own religion

tributary:

a small river that flows into a larger body of water
