Our Expertise in Digital Learning
MPT has a longstanding commitment to education.  Creating and sharing educational programs and services for Marylanders is central to our mission, whether it is online, in the classroom, in the community, or at home.

Thinkport was originally developed through a partnership with the Johns Hopkins Center for Technology in Education under a U.S. Department of Education Star Schools Grant and launched in 2003.

In the years since, as advances in technology soared, MPT produced a rich collection of innovative digital learning experiences proven to actively engage students in building knowledge and skills.  We take pride in continually pushing the digital envelope to make learning obtainable, equitable and fun.  You can find it all on Thinkport—online field trips interactive student learning modules, games, videos and lessons. Resources cover subjects in math, literacy, science, social studies, technology, health and specialized topics such as climate change and financial literacy.  We partner with leading content experts and educational institutions to ensure each resource meets our high quality-standards.  An assurance you can always trust.

Early Childhood
Thinkport’s early childhood staff create hands-on and digital learning activities incorporating PBS KIDS  highly regarded broadcast and online resources.  The team shares effective strategies and methods with child care professions in early learning and afterschool programs, parents and families in the use of these rich resources to enhance opportunities for our youngest learners.

Thinkport is the state’s primary source to access online courses for child care licensing and credentialing requirements. Courses were developed in partnership with the Maryland State Department of Education/Early Childhood Development Division.

PreK-12
MPT has a long history of developing standards-aligned classroom resources that challenge students of all ages to deeper learning.  Equally, MPT facilitates many online courses from quality partners such as PBS Teacherline and the Maryland State Department of Education, as well as original Thinkport courses developed for continuing education credit.
