Applying New Learning
The Maryland Humanities Action Research Project afforded teachers an opportunity to use Inquiry Kits for Social Studies in the classroom. The purpose of this action research project was to evaluate and build teacher competencies around self-reflection and strategic improvements in practice. The use of the inquiry kits provided a perfect avenue to put inquiry learning in action. Participants used action research to plan, evaluate, and modify the implementation of a lesson that included one or more of the Inquiry Kits for Social Studies using the following process.
