Help Choose America’s Favorite Book!
The GREAT AMERICAN READ is a PBS series and multiplatform initiative designed to spark a national conversation about reading, literacy and the books that have shaped and moved us in many different ways. Based on 100 cherished novels chosen by the public, viewers are encouraged to read books from the list, cast a vote for their favorite, and tune into to MPT and PBS this fall as we count down to “America’s Best-Loved Novel.”

If you love books as much as we do and want to get involved, there are many ways to participate in The GREAT AMERICAN READ. Watch the launch series which explores some of the fabulous books on the list, share you love of reading using #GreatReadPBS, join a book club, access free downloads, and more.
Tune into MPT and PBS to catch the series on Tuesday nights at 8:00 pm ET from September 11 - October 23.
Increase learning, literacy skills and engagement around some of the classics! A wide variety of the novels that made The GREAT AMERICAN READ list have found their way into classrooms and are woven into school instruction. This provides a unique and exciting opportunity to incorporate educational activities around these distinguished novels. From creative writing and art activities to lessons and video clips, there are a variety of ways to ignite a love of reading in your students.
