Course Description:
This self-paced course was developed by the Maryland State Department of Education and Maryland Public Television/Thinkport to help child care professionals learn about the purpose and benefits of the developmental screening process. This course will explain the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Office of Child Care mandatory requirement that takes effect July 1, 2017, requiring all early care and education programs to conduct routine developmental screenings on children birth through kindergarten entry age.

MSDE Core of Knowledge Clock Hours:
4 hours (2 hours-Child Development, 2 hours-Professionalism)

Time Requirement:  4 topics, 45-minutes per topic (4 hours total), including the time to view at least one tool-specific training video.

Format: This is a self-paced course which allows users to progress at their own speed. Course activities can be completed at any time and at your convenience.

Materials: No additional materials are required.

Technical Requirements: Having a reliable internet connection for the duration of the course is required.
