Maryland Elearning for Educators

What is e-Learning for Educators?

e-Learning employs a web-based model for learning instruction to offer educators a convenient online platform for high-quality professional development opportunities. The project is a collaboration between Maryland Public Television and the Maryland State Department of Education.

e-Learning blends three essential components for relevant Online Professional Development (OPD) for K-12 teachers:

  • Collaboration
  • Capacity-Building
  • Evaluation and Research

Collaboration:

  • Training and products are collaboratively developed and shared throughout ten participating public television stations and their state education partners.
  • Project is aligned with relevant priorities identified by each state.
  • Led by State Leadership Team with members representing key education initiatives.

Capacity-Building through online training and professional development:

  • Online facilitator and course developer training.
  • Online workshop delivery targeting core content areas.

Evaluation and Research:

  • Formative and summative evaluation to guide and improve the initiative.
  • Ground-breaking research to inform the field of OPD.

How can e-Learning support educators?

Stay tuned, we will keep you posted! As the project progresses, educators will be able to enroll in courses and selected educators will be trained as course developers.
